Why website maintenance is important
Today, WordPress is the number one Content Management System (CMS) platform for hosting websites. It’s the most popular platform in the world. Consequently, it’s also the number one target CMS for hackers, exploiters, and other bad actors looking to wreak havoc and cause harm in the connected world. With the sheer volume of 3rd party plugins and configuration options, WordPress security and maintenance should be taken seriously to mitigate these threats and ensure your website is robust, secure, highly available, and performing optimally.
Like cars, websites need a little TLC and routine maintenance to ensure they run well and safely. They require patches, updates, and proactive monitoring to offer optimal protection from potentially disastrous events. It’s crucial that these tasks aren’t left unattended. They should be part of a routine monthly schedule at a minimum. In addition, specific patches or updates to plugins or the WordPress core installation should be applied almost immediately if they pose a severe risk. You need to have your finger on the pulse and be as proactive as possible to prevent your site from being hacked or exploited.
Most WordPress hosting companies offer support and assistance for their hosting platforms. Although this is great news, few offer technical assistance with WordPress design and development, plugin support, and help with content management.
We always design and build our websites and hosting platforms with security and mitigation technologies and practices at the core. But no website is guaranteed to be 100% secure as the threat and vulnerability landscape is constantly changing. So, it’s essential to stay current and updated with a plan to mitigate disaster and act if or when disaster strikes.
With PagesThatConvert.com website maintenance services, there’s a plan to suit your business and budget that gives you the peace of mind that everything’s covered!
How much does website maintenance cost?
Website maintenance can be done for almost no cost if you look after it yourself. But do you have the time? And how much is your time worth? Do you have the expertise to make sure it’s being done right, or are you ready to invest the time to learn?
Some plugins can make it easier and less time-consuming, but they usually have a licensing cost and require some level of manual intervention, aside from the learning curve. As websites grow in the number of pages, posts, media files, installed plugins, and further complexity, so too does the time and effort required in keeping the site running in tip-top shape.
It’s an administrative overhead that few businesses or individuals have the time or expertise to conduct. Site maintenance is a requirement of every website online to keep things running well and your site highly available.
Hiring a professional website maintenance company shouldn’t see you raiding your piggy bank! For an affordable monthly cost, we’ll work for you while you focus your time and efforts on your business or what matters the most. So, using website maintenance services from PagesThatConvert.com just makes sense.
As an agency, we also have access to industry-standard tools to conduct proactive maintenance at a lower cost than most retail, singular-licensed individuals or businesses. The benefits of using a managed website maintenance service
Security. A website maintenance service can help keep your website secure by regularly updating your software and patching any security vulnerabilities. It can also help you create and enforce strong passwords and user policies. In addition, we keep a close eye on what the bad guys are up to and what attempts are made to compromise your site, and we make changes or suggestions necessary to mitigate these threats moving forwards.
Stability. By keeping your website up and running and performing regular updates and security checks, website maintenance services can ensure your website is stable and highly available.
Offsite data backups. A website maintenance service can help ensure all website data is backed up so you don’t lose any information if there’s an accident, hardware failure, or even a malicious act. Our hosting plans take daily backups stored on the same web server, enabling us to quickly restore them if we need to roll back the clock. However, if the entire web server is compromised or fails, the backup goes down with it. With offsite backups, your website and data are stored in multiple locations, so even if our Data Center building was damaged, we’d still be able to recover your data and site to the most recent offsite backup taken. It’s the peace of mind you need in any disaster recovery plan.
Help when you need it. Having a website maintenance package in place is like having your own WordPress webmaster professional on-call to advise or make any minor changes or tweaks to your website when you need them. You have more time to focus on your work while the maintenance service takes care of website updates, backups, troubleshooting, and security. It takes any stress out of owning and maintaining your site, freeing up more time for you to focus on the things that matter.
Content management. Included in the upper-tier maintenance and security packages are bundled minutes of web designer time to allow for minor tweaks and changes to the content on your pages or posts. We’ll take these tasks off your desk and free up more of your time.
Cost savings. Website maintenance services are often less expensive than hiring a full-time in-house web admin or hiring a freelancer or web design agency without a plan in place. We see it as a monthly retainer. Value is built into each package to offer cost savings over ad-hoc consultancy fees, which could be 2 or 3 times higher than our care plan.
Monthly reporting. The upper-tier maintenance and security packages also include monthly reporting on security status, along with website analytics on your visitors’ usage and competitive positioning in the marketplace.

Website maintenance – Frequently asked questions
None of the plans tick all my boxes. Is it possible to mix and match?
Every website and website owner is different, so it’s not always possible to publish a plan to cover everybody’s needs. At the same time, we try to cover all bases and offer several service options to cater to all shapes and sizes; sometimes, we have to make a custom solution comprising different components from those advertised. Please get in touch with us, and we can discuss adding or removing certain package features to a bespoke plan quotation tailored to your requirements.
Do the website maintenance plans include the hosting?
No, these plans are an add-on service to our WordPress shared hosting packages. You would need to purchase or already have a hosting plan to apply the website maintenance and security package.
Can you offer this service to my existing website hosted with another provider?
Yes. We’ll do our best to help you. However, we may not have as much control over the server-side configuration as we do on our platform. Please get in touch with us, and we can arrange to look at your current hosting solution and see if we can fit our website maintenance service over your 3rd party hosting solution. In addition, we may be able to help you migrate your website to us if the 3rd party hosting is not a good fit.
Do you maintain other types of sites aside from WordPress?
We don’t, sorry. We are a 100% WordPress-only agency and service provider, which is why we have such high-level expertise. We’re specialists, not generalists.
I have a larger site with more than 90 pages. Can you help with maintenance on this site?
More than likely! We’ll need to learn more and create a bespoke package for you. Please get in touch with us to discuss your requirements.
Do you take care of PHP version updates?
Yes. All packages cover PHP updates.
